In the spirit of Veteran’s Day, consider bringing a pair of new socks for homeless men and women in need. Our group leaders will collect and donate them to the NE Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV).

About Our Sock Drive
Clean white socks are a staple of homeless healthcare. Your support can help make a real difference in the lives of our veterans and their quality of care. Access to shoes and socks is often limited for the homeless men and women living in shelters and on the streets. Rain-soaked feet, ill-fitting shoes, constant standing and diseases like diabetes take their toll on the feet of homeless people. The best way to prevent troublesome conditions is to keep feet clean and dry - very difficult if you spend your days outside!

New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) is a national leader in housing and serving Veterans who are at-risk of homelessness. Located in Downtown Boston and offering services throughout the region, NECHV supports Veterans with innovative services that enable success, meaningful employment, and dignified independent living.

The NECHV has both male and female residents; the ratio of male to female is about 6:1. Generally speaking the average foot size for men is 9 to 12, and women is 8 to 11. If there could be a mixture of warm winter socks and regular everyday socks, that would be perfect.
