Greetings RISD Alumni,
Inspiration and creativity are finding so many new forms at RISD right now. The college, the country and the globe are in the middle of a deeply challenging moment of history—and new work from students, faculty and alumni is guiding us. Our community is helping us to see this moment for what it is, and to see past it to how we can connect on the other side.
Whether it’s a video greeting to new students from alumni, a families-oriented reconfiguration of RISD Weekend, a new slate of faculty pushing RISD in new directions, an academic conference on the shifting meanings of postcolonialism, or the Apparel Design class of 2020’s book project that reclaimed the culmination of their RISD education—our community is not simply enduring. It is coming together in new ways, thriving and inspiring.
We are still planning for a grand celebration of this RISD spirit next spring. If you would like to help us plan and be a part of reunion weekend 2020, please send us an email. And remember you can always keep us updated on your activities and accomplishments through the RISD alumni website.
