| Introducing RISD’s 18th President |
|
Following a year-long international search, the RISD Board of Trustees announced in December the appointment of Crystal Williams as RISD's next president. President-Elect Williams comes to RISD after more than two decades in higher education and brings with her a strong conviction in the critical role art and design play in shaping our world. She is a creative, an educator and an advocate for social justice, equity and inclusion. President-Elect Williams' qualities and expertise make her the leader, collaborator and community builder needed to take RISD into the future.

| Forbes Magazine recently named four RISD alumni to its 30 Under 30 list for 2022. Kate Pincus-Whitney MFA 20 PT, Nicole Xu 16 IL, Tara Gupta 19 FAV and Caspar Nagel 18 ID bring the total number of 30 Under 30 honorees who attended RISD to 49. |

| The Interlace Grant Fund has recognized the work of Adam Chuong MID 19, Lois Harada 10 PR, Jazzmen Lee-Johnson 08 FAV and Mariana Ramos Ortiz MFA 21 PR. Interlace is a Providence-area resource supporting new and experimental projects by artists whose work tends to fall outside traditional arts funding opportunities. |
