Dear Friend,
Snow may be in the air in Providence, but that just means things are heating up on our beloved RISD campus. I am excited to share with you the launch of two new alumni affinity groups, RISD Women in Business and RISD Asian Alumni, and our newest international alumni clubs, the Club of Italy and the Club of Canada. I hope you will take the time to explore and connect with these groups. All RISD alumni clubs and groups welcome alumni and students with interest or affiliation regardless of race, ethnicity, orientation, gender expression and identity, cultural background or regional location.
If you are looking for a different type of campus connection and are in New York City this December and January, I encourage you to visit The Met’s current Surrealist Exhibition to see the RISD Museum’s highly regarded Wifredo Lam painting, part of the museum’s traveling collection. This work was recently conserved thanks to a generous grant from Bank of America and highlighted as part of their Masterpiece Moment Series.
Our RISD experience is a connection we all share. We remember our focus and determination as we faced Crits + Finals, the satisfaction of accomplishing more than we thought we could over the semester and the excitement (and relief!) of heading into winter break. I hope you will join me and take a moment to send positive thoughts to our students as they prepare for the end of their semester.
Best wishes for a happy and safe holiday season.
Sincerely,

Rex Wong BArch 03 President RISD Alumni Association
